Cara Simone died June 8, 2020, at age 36 while on vacation near Barcelona, Spain.
Cara caught the travel bug young, born March 3, 1984, the child of two servicemembers stationed overseas. She never wanted to be in one place for long and parlayed her interest and expertise into a successful career as a travel writer.
Last year, Cara checked Antarctica off her bucket list. She is the author of three published books on traveling and fought hard against prejudices within the travel industry that disproportionately affect BIPOC.
Cara is survived by her mother, Denise Cleary, and her father and stepmother, Carl and Corinne Darlington. No services will be held.
