Carter Ansel Morrison died June 3, 2022 at age 80 in Anytown, Calif. of congestive heart failure.
Born on June 1, 1942 in Oakland, Carter was a “Bay Area transplant,” settling in Anytown where he was best known as the owner of the local camera shop, Shutters Open.
A graduate of the Nolan School of Art and Photography, Carter was a gifted and skilled photographer. His work was displayed internationally, and his portrait of theologian John Stembach is on permanent display at the National Museum of Photographic Arts in New York City.
While his main “focus” was portraiture, Carter had his private pilot’s license and took the opportunity to make aerial photos as well.
Carter leaves behind his longtime companion, Terry LeMay, and their two French bulldogs, Jessie and Messie.
