Mr. Ryan David Franklin, of Whitetail, MT, died on January 31, 2015 at the age of 58.
Ryan was born on October 18, 1956 in Raleigh, North Carolina. His parents, Robert and Tara Franklin, moved Ryan and his three brothers to Whitetail, MT when he was 12 years old. Ryan received his undergraduate degree at the University of Montana School of Journalism, and wrote music reviews as a journalist for the Montana Times for the next 35 years.
In 1985, Ryan married Kaitlyn Holman, and the couple had one son. As the primary caregiver, Ryan balanced his time between writing and soccer games, school plays, family dinners, and English tutoring. His dedication to providing educational vacations, field trips, extracurricular activities, and support often found him finishing his writing in the early hours of the morning, so he had more time during the day for his son.
Ryan will be loved and missed by surviving wife, Kaitlyn; son, Corey; brothers, Tim, Rick, and Eric; and mother, Tara. He is predeceased by his father, Robert.
