Josiah Barry died Nov. 1, 2022 at age 24 in Anytown, Wash. He was murdered.
Josiah was born Jan. 15, 1998 in Willow Glen, Wash. to Drew and Sally Barry. He attended Willow Glen High School, where he was a standout on the Hornets basketball team. He was recruited to attend Anystate Unversity, earning a full ride with the addition of merit scholarships.
Josiah was shot and killed during an altercation. He died the week after graduating with his bachelor’s degree in business administration. The shooter has been charged with murder.
Josiah enjoyed video gaming, dirt bikes, and the Washington Huskies.
He is survived by his parents as well as his sister, Sharla.
A candlelight vigil will be held on Nov. 15 at 9 p.m. at the site where Josiah was shot, at the intersection of 8th and Main streets.
