Obituary For Someone Who Died Of Overdose

Peter Marcon died June 3, 2022 at age 35 in Anytown, Calif.

Born May 2, 1987 in Sparks, Nev., Peter came into the world smiling. His parents and siblings remember him as a happy boy who was always carrying around a toy truck, a bunch of flowers, or a puppy. He was constantly on the go.

It was while he was studying economics at University of California at Anytown that Peter began to struggle with mental health issues. After an injury, he was prescribed opiates. This launched a cycle of self-medication and addiction that he was never able to break. He overdosed on June 1 and died two days later at Anytown Hospital, surrounded by loved ones.

Peter’s career was cut short, but his work was well-respected at CalEcon Research, a noted thinktank. He was credited with developing tools to measure income disparities in California’s Central Valley.

He loved working on his truck, meditating in his garden, and running with his beloved golden retriever, Goldbug.

He leaves behind his parents, Isaac and Catherine, as well as a sister, Natasha. Goldbug has gone to live with Natasha.

Peter’s family is grateful to West Coast Rehab as well as the Anytown Narcan Training Corps.

No services will be held, but donations may be made in Peter’s memory to the Anytown Narcan Training Corps.
