Amy Anders was one of four members of her immediate family to die of Covid-19 during the month of January 2021. She died Jan. 29 at age 49.
A lifelong Anytown, CA resident, Amy leaves behind her mother Diane. Amy was preceded in death by her father, Martin, who succumbed to Covid in December, and her brother Kenny and sister Talia, who died in early January. Her niece, Miranda, also passed away from the disease.
Amy was born Dec. 14, 1971. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was also an active volunteer in the community. A skilled amateur photographer, she took photos of the adoptable dogs and cats at Anytown Humane Society.
Amy was hired as a bagger at Anytown Grocery while she was still in high school. She was promoted to cashier within a year and ultimately moved up the ladder to store manager. During the 2017 Anytown Flood, she spearheaded a donation drive at the store while also volunteering nightly at the disaster shelter.
No memorial service will be held. In lieu of flowers, Amy's survivors have asked that people consider getting vaccinated against Covid-19 in her memory.
